Hi Mand, you buy special safety glass film... I found a company online who cut it to size and it is easy to apply. I will see if I can find the email and find the company name for you.

I am not sure if you can use the sticky plastic. I think you would find that the safety film would look much better with far less bubbles. When you apply the safety film you first wet the glass with some detergent and water solution to make it slippery. Then you can slide the film into position and it is quite easy to smooth out the bubbles using a sqeeze. I don't think you would be able to do this with the sticky plastic.

Here you go... this is the website. It only worked out at £16 for me to have 18 pieces cut for my glass panelled doors, delievered. :-)

    Hello,
I got mine from ebay it was on a roll (from Mothercare) can't remember how much it cost but was under £10. This is stronger that sticky back plastic its sturdier. Personally I would recommend using the proper stuff. It's to hold the glass together if it's broken, I don't think sticky back plastic would do this. Good Luck. x

I got mine in Mothercare, wasn't very expensive and easy to apply
    It's on a 3 for 2 at the moment.

Ebay is a good place to look for this. You can usually find someone who is selling a part used roll or a new one. I wouldn't recommend using sticky back plastic though.
