Default how do you work out the cost of meals?

i 'officially' started childminding yesterday and i was just wondering how you work out the cost of their meals etc? do you have to work out the exact cost of each meal or just work out an average? he had cheese biscuits for snack, sandwichs, cheese, yogurt and fruit for lunch, bread sticks, veg dips for snack and cottage pie, green beans and jelly for tea

I work out an average using my Tesco receipt for a week... then re-do it about 3 months later to check because the prices keep going up.
