Hi I have a bit of a dilemma.
I am currently looking after an 8 month old who refuses point blank to accept a beaker cup. Both mum and I have tried possibly every childrens cup on the market, The dilemma being she also refuses to drink water to the point where we are having to pour it in as she gets constipated and her soft spot on her head still dips with dehydration.
Where do we (as childminders) stand with allowing them to have very weak juice in their bottle, she has no teeth yet. I know we have to strongly advise parents the dangers of tooth decay etc but when express wishes are now coming from parents to allow their child juice in a bottle do we oblidge??
Gut instinct says get them to sign a disclaimer to state they have been advised of the risks/dangers but they give permission for juice in a bottle?
thanks, i know i have rambled a bit. xx
