Default could I ask for feedback on my name?

Hi Pauline, I posted a question about my business name that wasn't published. Can I try again? This is the post:

I'd like to call my child minding business Jac's Brats (my nick name was always Jack Sprat!) I wondered if would be seen as derogatory to the children? It seems in line with names such as Cheeky Monkeys and Little Rascals that other people seem to use on the forum.
    Would appreciate your feedback please.

It is catchy but as a parent who doesn't know your nickname of Sprat I wouldn't pick up the phone

    Sorry

Personally I take cheeky monkey & little rascal to mean cheeky but brat to me says naughty. Sorry just being honest!

I don't know why it wouldn't have published but yes, by all mean try again

I would also agree that while 'cheeky' and 'rascal' come across as intended to be endearing to children, brat would (to me) comes across as a negative description.

I thiink I would avoid the brats bit as it does in some peoples eyes seem a little negative to and even if they have a child that would be classed as a brat they still think of them as a little wonder. Hope this helps

i would not find that attractive as a parent. I personally think the word brat has connotations of children who are spoiled, badly behaved and not very nice.

Have to agree with the others. I call my own children and sometimes mindees little monkey or cheeky monkey etc but in an endearing way but the word brat I feel is awful. Sorry

It would put me off I am afraid. Not like cheeky monkeys or little rascals imo.

Jack Sprat is a nursery rhyme name so completely appropriate and very nice

Honestly? Noooooooo, I think it will put parents off calling you.

The dictionary definition is "a child, especially a badly behaved one" - don't think that's quite the image you're looking for!

    Gosh thanks guys - unanimous!!!

I could go with Jack Sprat but what comes next? Jack's Sprats Sprogs ha ha - no just trying to get something catchy.

I really value the feedback ...in fact have to go out and retrieve 2 posters I put up!!!

    Back to the drawing board...

If you want to use your name then I'd just go for "Jac's Sprats" - I think it's catchy and people will remember it.

I dont like the brats name and wouldn't even consider using childcare called that.

TBH I dont like jack's sprats either because it sounds like jacks brats when you say it quickly which people probably will...

up to you though, its your business
