Ideas Please

I have decided to make it musical may as I like to have a theme along side the childrens interests.
I am trying to come up with ideas for a role play area I thought of a music shop but am concerned about them playing the instruments first thing in the morning. Then I thought about a recording studio but not sure if that might also be a bit on the noisy side.
So I wondered if any one had any other ideas please.

A music shop is a great idea... shops don't open until after 9am... you could make some open /closed signs and learn lots about telling the time and recognising the number 9!

What about a dance studio? Could you rug up a bar and mirrors? Floaty scarves, iPod that plays classical music set on low or with head phones?

how about a radio station with some pretend microphones and a cassette player they can put tapes in to play

Or Music library, they can loan out tapes, fill in record cards etc, lots of literacy and numeracy learning opportunities

CUW Learn about instuments from different countries and different styles of music from different countries

This week you could do something about Morris Dancing on May Day. There are bound to be some clips of Morris Dancing on Utube.
