Not sure if this has been mentioned but I will tell you the latest I have heard:

Ofsted will be contacting all childminders before July to tell them which register Ofsted are adding them to - the early years register or the Ofsted childcare register.

It is important that you check carefully that you are on the correct one.

If you haven't had a letter by September you ought to contact Ofsted to see why.

Anyone who has not had children on their register for 3 years or more are to be removed from the Ofsted register and they will have to register again if they want to mind.

The difference is age groups split into pre school and school age. I think but Sarah has posted the information in a leaflet form.

I've just had my letter!!

It says which registers I will be on and why. - plain and simple to understand.

It says that the transfer is free and that I will have to pay one annual fee to remain on the two registers.

"How much will you pay"
"The date you pay your current fee will be the date you pay the new fee. The Dept for Children, Schools and Families has not yet set the fee. We will write to you with the fee details nearer the time of the transfer"

So still none the wiser!

Just got home from trip into town (look like a drowned rat!!!!)

My postman had been.

I got my letter too......so hopefully everyone should have their letters in next couple of days!
