    Default ear infections

I was told at toddlers today that we should exclude children if they have an ear infection especially if its runny

Apparantly its a bacterial infection and contagious. This came from another cm who was told this by a nursery she picks up from.

I didnt know this and have always taken children with ear infections as long as they were on a/b's and not ill etc. Is this right?
