    Default tears for Oz

I have just been in tears while watching the news and the floods in Australia. I don't know if anyone saw it, but a little lad (12 yo I think) told rescuers to save his 10yo brother first...and then got swept away with his mum. It's just so sad isn't it?

That's awful. I haven't seen it - I hate watching the news to be honest, there is always something on that upsets me.

I've been watching this closely as have a friend who lives just outside Toowoomba. Its all been really scary for them and a lot of people have lost their lives and many others have been left with nothing.

If anyone wants to donate, you can do so at www.qld.gov.au/floods/donate.html.

My dad lives just outside Brisbane and I was unable to get in touch with him for days - I was SO scared.
But I finally heard fromn him yesterday and they have, by some miracle, been spared from the floods.
He said in his 22 years in Australia never seen weather like it and said areas near him are a complete disaster zone.
Very, very scary stuff and so sad for those who have lost absolutely everything. As for that lad who gave up his chance of resue for his brother - what an truely amazing child

Terrible all around the world But the news today showed a place in Australia where whole houses got washed away, but they don't even have a river system.
The sheer force of water coming down made an 'inland Tsunami'.

My brother is out there too. He too has been spared form the devastation of the floods. He has its going to take ages for the city to recover. Prayers and thoughts to everyone out there.
