I have a LO who has a cold tea on a monday thet mum provides which is all finger food and she has 1/2 sandwich, chunky pieces of cucumber, raisins, babybel, baby crisps, breadsticks, rice cakes, grapes, tomato cut up.

She doesn't eat all that but mum likes to give her a good selection

    Cheesy vegetable nuggets

8oz frozen broccoli florets (or whatever left over veg you have)
    4oz breadcrumbs
    6oz Cheddar, grated
    1 1/2 tsp baking powder
    2 1/2 tbsp water
    2 1/2 tbsp olive oil

Heat the oven to 375 deg F, 190 deg C.
Cook the broccoli, then drain and chop well.
Combine with the remaining ingredients and mix well.
Form the mixture into nugget shapes and place on a greased baking tray, about 3in apart.
Bake for 20-25 mins, turning halfway through the cooking time.
    Serve warm.

You can use mixed frozen veg rather than just broccoli. They do spread out when cooking. Making little balls and cooking in mini-muffin tray works well.
    Warning, they are really moreish

My mindees have cold lunches (most of the time) and have things such as:
    sandwiches with various fillings
    cooked but chilled pasta
meat slices eg ham, chicken, corned beef
    cucumber or carrot sticks
    tomoto's
    tinned sweetcorn
cheese chunks/sticks - any variety (edam, babybel, cheddar etc)
    apple or pear chunks
    halfed grapes
    raisins
    breadsticks or ritz crackers
    rice cakes

For fingerfood hot (warm) meals i like to cook:
    chunky soup
sausages with pasta (could also be served cold the next day)
fresh chicken chunks with boiled potatoes and steamed veg sticks
vegetable fingers/burgers - similar to the recipe provided

I also provide the fingerfood children with 'normal' meals (spag bol etc) as well, i find that if there is a group of children they like to try and copy so i always provide a plastic fork and spoon with hot meals Good luck! xx

crackers/oat cakes or rice cakes with Philladelphia/Dairylea/hummous

    sweetcorn fritters

    French toast/eggy bread

    cheese on toast

    Muffins/pittas/tortillas made into pizzas

    Pizza whirls

Jacket spuds cut into wedge shapes with some cheese melted over (these hold

together well and they tend to disgard the skin themselves).

Ques-whats-their-names A wrap in a frying pan with some sweetcorn/peppers/ham/etc inside with cheese and another wrap on top. Fry gently till one side is browned then flip over.

    Savoury scones

    Potato cakes or potato waffles

    Cheese straws

I don't know about you peeps but I have a sandwich for my lunch everyday, and that's what I give my mindees for their lunch everyday too... either that or something on toast. So that's what my own 10 month old eats too! Just with different fillings or toppings!

I try and give him some bread, some fruit, some veg and some dairy every lunchtime. He loves chunks of avocado or egg!
