I'd offer her a cup of tea and a biscuit but not lunch. It's a great time for her to sit back and really observe what you are doing. Plan some simple but interesting food that day so the kids can get into it (like mini pizzas they can put their own toppings on). Put all your policies and paperwork on a shelf, point her in that direction and then say "pardon me but I have to get on with the children." She'll love you for ignoring her.
I tihnk I'd just say to the kids that you're having a visitor to watch that day.
