Default Story Sacks for older children

Our school are asking parents to help create story sacks for the school. I thought I would give it a go seeing as I have made one for the hungry caterpillar, bear hunt and also brown bear BUT I thought these were probably obvious choices so thought I might do one that was suitable for older children (even though my girls love the ones I made). Can anyone recommend any good books?

    So far I have
    Mrs Pepperpot series
    Jaqueline wilson books
    flat stanley

    Can you suggest any others?

Tom's Sausage Lion (or any Michael Morpurgo book), Ice Palace, The White Bear King (Picture Book but lengthy) are some of my favourites.
