Ah bless ya... it is rather daunting isn't it.
I still struggle at times but have attended courses run by my local early years team, could you not contact them to see if any courses are available in your area.
Failing that Sarah has published a Ebook which is very useful!
I wish you luck.

You need to break it down, which bit do you want to start with first, get to grips with that and all the rest will just follow.
EG observe what a child is doing, look it up in eyfs book in the first colum, then read along to what they recomend to plan and do some of that at your next session. keep it simple.
You are not an idiot lets just get that straight.
Penny Tassoni has a great book - Practical Guide to EYFS
Sarah does some fabulous E-Books worth every penny
Take it all in small chunks. What sort of thing are you struggling with (one small step at a time)
the poster bit: is your house welcoming, are your toys age appropraite, are you appropriate with the kids, do you keep them safe etc etc - that's that bit
The age group bits: what a child can work towards and how you can help them do this.
That's it in its simplest form
maybe the idiots who wrote the EYFS could do a simple guide. i could do with one too
What bits are you struggling with?
I am sure between us we can all point you in the right direction
Does anyone have a welcome poster they can link to me.I had a new system installed on computer and thought I saved everything before but seem to have lost this. Thanks.
There is a free one on our Forum Friend member Julie's website Childminding Resource Shop:
