Do you charge for a settling in period?

Hi, i charge for settling in, i dont really see why we shouldnt, we are a buisiness at the end of the day!! ive never had any complaints from parents about it because i always tell them when they sign contracts that they will be charged

I offer 2 x 2 hour free settling in sessions. Parents are welcome to book more if they feel they need them, but I charge for these!!

If mum stays with the child at the 1st settling in session I don't charge, but after that I do

I offer 2 sessions free, 2-3 hours each, after that they pay.

I offer 2 x 2hr settling in sessions free, nothing more and I dont join them up to give a free 4hr session as one parent thought and I only do it AFTER contracts are signed!

Same here. I offer 4hrs free which the parent can choose how to use (mostly 2 x 2hrs) but will only do it after contracts have been signed and deposit taken.

I only offer one 2hr session, might allow it to stretch an extra half hour if I know the parent has another nursery pick up, for example but after that it's all charged for.

Usually I allow two visits with parent and child that I dont charge for i.e first visit for initial and second for longer period for an hour or two with the child. Then if the parent wants the space I take a deposit £50 or £100 on signing of contracts and then any settling in hours are deducted from this. If they decide they dont want the space then I have still got paid for any hours worked, but dont refund the difference in deposit. Never had to refund yet though. I then deduct any balance of forst months invoice

I do a couple free for a max couple of hours, but I do them before contracts as I also use the time to ultimately decide if we are all right for each other.
