chilling out - no mindees and inspector turns up!

OMG I nearly died!
day off mindees on holidays with parents
decided to just chill out today!
no hoovering
no cleaning
just relaxed on health & safety for a change
breakfast dishes still in sink (I never do this when working)
I'm surfing the net
14yr old son on his xbox 360(eating a big bag of sweets) it's easter holidays
knock at the door

my darling son whizzed around sorting all his mess up in a panick

luckily all my paperwork had been sorted and I was organised
she said that she was really impressed with my paper work, risk assessments, health and safety and general organisation
and she had receieved good feedback from parents questionaires she looked at the photo evidance of the children during activities that i keep
she said she was very happy with the inspection, although no mindees around!
I will get report through post and she wont need to come around again this year

she was here 1 1/2 hours
THANKS TO THIS FORUM! IT HAS PROVIDED ME WITH LOTS OF INFO THAT PREPARED ME FOR INSPECTION

Well at least you had no worry weeks or days before getting yourself in a panic or anything

I would have thought being as you had a day off they would rather come back another time to see you with mindees? Well done on getting good feedback

I would not be happy if I got called on when I havea day off, would be a total tip and in my PJs with unwashed hair, and of course that'll be the exact time I get one now argh!

I HAD ABSOULUTE HEART FAILURE, I got pre-inspection forms to fill in a few weeks ago and gave her the days/ hours I work,
I would normally be working today, but mindees have gone away with parents
so I knew CSSIW would be due soon!
but I was caught off guard today due to me not working this week
but luckily I still managed to impress her pheeew!
cant wait to read the report now, I dont think we get graded in wales though!
I've never seen my son clear up so quickly!!! she should come more often second thoughts no I dont want visits like that in a hurry, I think she said they do inspections every other year now?

Whey Hey congrats to you - you've done really well its the systems fault not yours that you had no children when she arrived and you were just relaxing on your day off - what would have happened if you'd said that you had to leave in half an hour for a hosp apt?
