timing dilema

any ideas on my timming dilema, i have a baby full time till 3.30
also my own son of 18 m so double buggy and two big car seats.
i have been asked to do a school pickup for 2 sisters to be picked up at 4.30 so only about an hour each day for £300 a month!
but would mean i have to walk every day from school as not enough room in car but kids come out of school at 3,15 and it takes 20 mins to walk home .......
asked babys mum if she would meet me at school she said she doesnt mind waiting on the drive, but i will feel like i have to rush back and no park if sunny etc

what else could i do dont want to turn down this money

hard! I would just go home and let mum wait on the drive for £300

But then I can see the school from my house

I would ask babys mom if she could pick up at 3.45 instead for no extra charge

yeah thats what she offered didnt ask my hourly rate, just said will you do it for £300! ummmm yes!
but assumed babys mum wouldnt mind meeting me at school which is 2 mins from her work........thinkj i shall work on her

I'd have taken it, too. Baby's mum has been given the choice. She may find, after a few days of waiting, that she would prefer to meet you after all!

For £300, I'd drop baby off and THEN go to the park.

Know what you mean, though. I have to rush back after school pick-ups to meet three taxis and it can create tension, especially as the school my mindees attend regularly comes out late.

Well maybe the babys mum might like the extra 45min so she does not have to rush from work. She could do all thoes little jobs that we never have time for, like make that phone call that needs peace and quiet, pop to the chemist, go through your diary to check that birthday you think you might have missed, the list is endless.

What would we not give for 45min to ourselves each day and at no charge so go ahead and suggest it

I have to say that for £300 i would definitely make it work. I used to pick my DD up straight from work at 3.00 and used to wait on the road for my mother in law to bring her out to me (she lives across a green that cars can't get over) as she started work at 3.30 and would drop her to me at the car before she went. i often waited for 10 min or so and never minded, due to the fact that DD's bag was packed, her coat was alrady on and i whipped her in to her seat and we were on our way, without having to spend 5 min gathering her belongings, putting on shoes, putting on coat and then the bit of banter that went with it!

Good luck, i'm sure she won't mind waiting and as for the park i do that afterwards!!
