Confused r.e assistant title?!

OK ill try and explain best i can!!

My hubby was registered a long while back as my assistant, he was CRB checked etc and is on my certificate BUT this was and still is purely for him helping with an emergency school run or if i need to leave him with a LO for a short period of time.

I get the impression from some of the posts on here that some assistants do more than this..are they not then CM too? how does the assistant differ if looking after children when your numbers are put up..or is this only when you work together?

Sorry if it sounds dumb was just wondering that's all?!!

my assistant is'nt a registered cm, she works along side me near enough full time as we care for 6 children under 5, if i have a quite week ( parents on shift work, or a child on hol) and i am within my numbers to work on my own i do.

the main difference with an assistant is that you are still ultimately responsible for the actions of the assistant, whereas a registered childminder working with you are responsible for their own actions.
