I'm fuming my detector is bleeping intermittently I changed the battery for a brand new duracell and its still doing it the date on it says 11/07 and says it will need replacing within 5 years. I've had it a year! I've found my receipt but the online shop I got it from is no longer around.

I've put in the model number and am trying to get the same one as the base unit is stuck to the ceiling and the battery unit comes out. The problem is they don't state on the websites which year is on the unit as I don't want the same problem happening again!

has anyone else had one fail so quickly.

We had the same probem last year and had to buy a new unit in the end but ours did last for 5 years before that happened.

Most stores online have telephone numbers so why not ring and ask or email them before buying.
