    Default emergency contacts

Hello everyone - hope you all had lovely bank hols!

just wondering whilst I was looking over the forum - what about emergency contacts

I've got names of emergency contacts for my mindees (granny usually) but was wondering - what if I couldn't get hold of parents and say mindee v v poorly in my care - am I okay to release the mindee to the emergency contact - I've never met them!

    hope I'm making sense!

thinking this is a massive safeguarding issue but am I meant to meet every emergency contact?

sorry to be all confused on a tuesday morning! - wondering what your thoughts were?

    xxx

i ask my parents for a collection password which is written on my contact form so that if i need an emergancy contact to collect then the parents pass on this password. It's what thy did in the nurseries i worked in.
