Default Received a letter clearing son.

Does this mean he can now become my assistant immediately or do I need to speak to Ofsted and add him officially to my register?

At the moment my numbers are the same but I could start paying him a wage - have sent off the letter today for a variation to increase my numbers.

    hello ,
Yes, he can be your assistant straight away. The confusion comes when he might be left alone for short periods to care for mindees or to increase your numbers. I think when you need these conditions to apply, you need to inform Ofsted and they'll then make a decision and add the conditions to a new registration certificate. Its what I did anyway. Although my dd already helps me out we didn't get anything official until I told my inspector i was confused about what we could and couldn't do. She was happy we'd already been working together and arranged for a new certificate to be sent out with permission for her to care for children alone for short periods, with parental consents in place.

    ...Give them a ring maybe?

    bws, Wendy
