Default My Son and His Selective Mutism UPDATE

Hi Girls ... didn't get to update on Friday went away for the weekend ... well, my fantastic little man read his reading book to me with his teacher sat right next to him. His TA also came in and he read away ... all the teachers in the school were walking past "being nosey", and when I left the school after almost an hour ... they were all so happy and I got lots of compliments about his latest achievement - we have one very happy mummy, a very happy daddy, a very happy teacher, and one very proud little boy! Going back into the school next Friday to keep it up!

Fantastic! That must have taken a lot of effort on his part. No wonder you are so proud

Well well done to him - I had selective mutism when I was little too so I have a huge empathy for him and I certainly could not have read out loud infront of others like that for years.

You deserve to be so so proud of him - my mother didn't know what caused mine until I wrote an essay called "Memories of my Childhood" when I was 17 - and it came out in that - I always knew the reason - I won the competion out of 150 girls in my year - so two good things came out of that essay!!! - One day if you are lucky it the reason for his may come out too!!!! I was slapped for doing something I didn't!!!! - nothing too unusual for the 1960's

    - for your little boy!!!
