    Default Under 8's.

I have 4 under 8's and was wondering, when you can take more on? my certificate says that I can only have the above, but how long does it take for oyu to get more? if that makes sense? or is 4 the limit for everyone?

ncma membership, is that yearly? if so do u get a reminder?

    Thanks

    xx

Does that include your own children? Including your own children the normal maximum numbers for a childminder in England and Wales are 6 children under 8 years (3 pre-school & 3 school-age) there can be variations for individual childminders. If you do not have 2 of your own children in this age group then speak to OFSTED/CSSIW to see if they will increase your numbers or whether you have a restriction for some reason. When I first started they restricted me to 4 for the first year as I had no childcare experience. I increased it on the next inspection.

NCMA send out a reminder about a month before the renewal. You can now sign up for Direct debit payments if you want.

    Hi,

I think if it says you can only care for 4 under 8's then thats all you can look after. Have you got any children of your own as Ofsted take that into consideration when deciding on how many children you can look after. Once your children have turned 9 you can apply to ofsted to increase your "allowance".

My certificate says 5 childminded children as one space is taken by my 6 year old - so that makes the full 6 IYSWIM.

Ring them in the morning to confirm if your certificate includes your children or not.

Mine was changed when DS turned 8. I didn't have to wait till he was 9. They changed it as soon as he had his 8th birthday.

oh thats ok then. I thought they said 9 and up must of mis understood. I think she will have to contact ofsted to be certain. They must have had some reason for the restriction probably own children.
