Help!! Cash flow for grant

My friends needs to do a cash flow (amongst other things) to get her grant and ncma resources i am baffled i have no idea how to go about doing it.

easiest to do it in a spread sheet
have the months across the top and down the sides have her incomings with a total and then all her outgoings with a total then at the bottom the sum of her incomings minus her outgoings

The only thing is I haven't started to earn an income so all of the in, for example on the cash flow sheet that comes with the grant application you have to give examples of how much gas/electricty costs, building/contents insurance,
telephone, stationary etc, play equipment, consumables, food and drink, baby essentials..........
