Default Driving me up the wall!

I've been surfing the web for 2 hours now trying to find out more about assistants etc.

Please please someone tell me, can you have an assistant who is self emplyed (so you dont have to pay min wage) If so do they just need to tell inland rev they self employed, apply to ofsted, get crb done to be able to start?

    please help me!

If you employ them then you have to pay min wage, mat leave, holiday etc....if they are self employed then you don't have to do anything except make sure they are suitable, put them on your cert (follow relevant rules) & do enhanced CRB - it's up to them to tell the IR they are SE & file their own tax return.
