    Default Funding for ICT equipment

    Hi,

i have set up a childminding group this year and we have just applied to our early years team for money for a laptop, scanner-printer and a software package. The proposal is that it will be used by the group to produce newsletters, forms, policies, leaflets, letters, anything they need, and we will create a bank of information that any minder can access, adapt and print, such as letters to nurseries to open up communication, under the 'working in partnership' requirements.

The thing is that the capital grant round here has been off-limits to childminders before now, but because the proposal was for the benefit of many, we will get our funding!! So ask and ask again.... nicely, and ask questions about where all the money is going to..... i applied through the 'sustainability grant' route, all very confusing and they have obviously made and exception to the rule for us so why not for everyone else?? So if you are in an area that doesn't give out funding for minders, give it a go!!

    Good Luck!!
