I left them on the doorstep this morning!

not unattended with their parents!

I had a particularly bad day last week got made a mug of by virtually every set of parents, early morning pick ups, late in the evenings and clubs that hadn't been mentioned. I did a newsletter last Friday it was due but mainly to get my point across, even a had a moan to one parent about lack of respect early and late etc (she is the worst offender) as if it wasn't about her - for the rest of the week she arrived and left on time!

Monday they were ok - not on the dot, by yesterday they had slipped back into their old ways!

This morning was dry and warmish ideal for a ten minute wait on my doorstep I thought! Two sets of parents (no babies both mindees school age) were left out there whilst I finished my breakfast - it was really liberating!

Both said 'we rang and rang' (they did) and 'you didn't hear us' (I did) is your doorbell working? (oh it is!) perfect opportunity to reiterate start times and earlier starts are by pre-arrangement and mutual consent (me agreeing)!

I am sorry but I did enjoy it - hopefully parents have learnt a lesson.

love the picture of you sitting finishing your brekkie calmly whilst the doorbells ringing lol .. i once took the batteries out of my doorbell when i had a parent like that - they rapped on the front door then but i could ignore that and it didnt wake the whole house up

I've done this in the past and my husband says I'm terrible but I've been there done that and got the tee shirt in the past - I'm no spring chicken any more and I cant stand rushing in the morning - I have 2 children of my own to get out to the school bus by 7.45 and its no mean feat with a 14 year old who only grunts these days!! so I now stay upstairs once it hits about 20 to 8 and hide While I shower and get dressed - they can all go to pot if they need a drop off before 8.00 they can bloomin' well pay for it! and if they do I will gladly be up and showered for them.

I charged a parent a £20 late collection fee last week for being 45 mins late for pick up with no text or call or even an apology when she got here. This week she called me on Monday to let me know she was running late.

She also knocked 10 mins early this morning while I was still eating breakfast - but as the other extreme is her being 10 mins LATE for drop off and us all rushing around, I didnt moan. They finish next week anyway otherwise I would be stricter with her.

The picture of them banging and ringing away on the door while you are enjoying your breakfast is hysterical!!!
