    Default can two minders claim accounts in same house??

    im just wondering if i work alongside my mum in her house as my own childminder can i still claim on my accounts for food, wear and tear, toys etc as ive heard i cant do my own accounts so therefore will get taxed a fair bit if anyone can help it would be appriciated.

    I also work alongside my mum in her house

    because of this i can not claim for gas, electric, rent or anything related to her house. I do claim for toys and equipment as we usually go half on these things

    One way around this, is by paying ur mum an amount towards here heating cost etc but then she will also have to declare this

    dito, i think you can only claim for what you spend not what your mum spends

    I don't think you could claim the wear and tear element either as it's not your property.

    You could ring HMRC for advice.

    i work with my mum too. same as above - i cant claim rent water gas elec act, but i do on everything else. I dont get over taxed eitjher! Works fine for us...

    I work with my partner.

    It's my house so I claim for wear and tear and running costs.

    He has some food costs for the older children on his books plus he buys lots of games, toys, books, comics, outings fees etc that go through his accounts
