Hi everyone just reading over some notes what i took on my first aid course, do you need to obtain permission to use plasters on children because of the risk of a allergic reaction?

We were told to call them "adhesive dressings" - never to call them by their brand names either (ie Elastoplast etc) due to if you used something else then parents could sue...

Same as saying you will use liquid oral paracetamol suspension (not giving the brand name (its fine if you only ever use Calpol for instance then its ok to name it)

I have permission for 'administering the First Aid I have been trained to use and applying hypoallergenic adhesive dressings as appropriate'.
