Default Would I be over my numbers?

Hi my registration says I can look after 5 children. Plus my Daughter who is 6 years old. If my husband or mother-in-law was with me to totally look after my daughter would I be able to look after another child in her place?

No - your child is included in your numbers.

No, as uf has said, your child is counted in your numbers at all times whether they are with you or not

I thought so but I know soooooo many childminders that because their childs dad or grandparent was present they take on extra children. I have checked with Ofsted and this makes a lot of childminders in my area over their numbers. When I phoned Ofsted they asked me to name the childminders ........ it was tempting with a few I can tell you!

Basically if your certificate said you you could have 4 children you can only ever have 4 mindees under 8. I find it easier not to think of my children as being in my numbers I just think the certificate says 2 under 5 yrs and 2 aged 5 and over so that is what I fill.
