    Default Holiday care

Hi I have a mum coming on Monday to discuss looking after her two children on the odd occasion in the school holidays. She will only need care on one or two days each holiday. So how do i do the contract and also i cant see her paying a deposit. I arranged for her to come and see me and meet my own children who are similar age to hers but now i am having second thoughts. Should i ask her to pay in advance or bill her normally.

If it is the odd occasion I wouldn't bother with deposits/retainers as you don't have anything specific.

I would specify that you need x amount of weeks notice and if you have the space you need 50% when booking and that will secure the time and the balance on the first day.

This gives you room to move if someone else comes along. If parents don't pay deposits they can hardly expect a place everytime.

My price would all inflate slightly.

When she asked for the price i told her and then stupid me who opens her mouth before thinking offered her sibling discount

I suppose it is to late to rectify that and put my charges up instead of down.
