We had one of these last year in school and the children kept lifting the lid which was left off on at least one occasion resulting in only 1 hatching!!!

My daughter did this in year one at school.

She loved it and I have a lovely picture of her holding a chick.

Looks lovely but pretty expensive? £260 for the kit - think I would go for the caterpillars!

anyone know how easy it is to look after chickens??

i have a dog, but he's great with our rabbits, and cats so i'm sure with supervision he'd be fine with chickens too

Sorry Hebs but ' I want, doesn't get ' Something I always say to my children

I'd love chickens though, shame the garden is too small. Friends of ours have chickens and we've been given the eggs, so much tastier than shop bought.

Hi, looks good but what happens to the chicks once hatched and what if there were cockerell??

just wondering as I have hens (luckly no cockerells)

But the kids loved the chicks that we rescued a month ago.

I'm sorry, but our school does this, and I feel so sorry for all the chickens that need to be homed afterwards.
