Our visit by the police

Im doing emergency services for our theme this month, following a little boys interests that I mind.

I emailed the local police station and they arranged really quickly for a couple of community officers to come and visit out childminding group last thursday.

The two officers were really great with the children, bought lots of coats and hats for them to try on and as you can see I got stuck into dressing up. I look awful.

They also bought a riot van, a bit on the smelly side but they said it was a working van.

They also bought lots of booklets and bits for the children.

A really good morning and the children loved it, the little boy Im holding is the one I organised it for and he hated the van, started screaming when I took him in it and screamed when they put the sirens on.

Thought you might like to see pictures and maybe an idea for you all as really easy to arrange

Put in a request for the fire engine next

sounds excellent. My hubby is a police officer & I keep nagging him to bring a police car home & give my mindees a talk!

Wow looks like you had fun. Firefighters are the best though they always let the kids in the engine and on the last visit let the children play with the hose( got water all over people's car) which they thought was great.

What a fab idea, your pics look like you had a great time.

My sister is a policewoman and her hubbie too hmmmm maybe i should get on the case.
It would be sooo much better to have a few firemen visit though
