    Default Car Insurance?

do we HAVE to have class 3 to be covered?

my stupid car insurance company say no class 1 will cover me, have argued till i'm blue in the face that i MUST have class 3,

cheecky swines say they'll charge me £73 if i cancel my current insurance even though it runs out in 8 weeks

i have to get this sorted out as the 4 and 7 year old are definatly definatly starting on monday

All I know is that I have just added business class and explained I'm a childminder and it has cost me £10 extra. I was told seeing as I'm not a taxi and it is just a case of the children accommpanying me then that is it. Seeing as I can't get 3 carseats in the back of my new peugeot we aren't going anywhere in it anyway!

Doesn't class 1 business use not cover the kids and their car seats in the event of an accident?

I just tell them I'm a childminder and that it must state that I'm a childminder on my policy.

    Some companies do charge more

I'm insured with Churchill. They cove the children and the car seats. I double checked because I can get 3 seats in the back of the Octavia and one in the front because I can isolate the air bag. They cover up to £200 per seat.

just found this on another thread

I have class 3 insurance so that all the kids in the vehicle are covered as are all the car seats.

The other class 1 and 2 dont cover the individual children if they get wiplash etc in the event of an accident nor do they replace all the car seats.

The last thing you would want is a parent to sue you for their kids being injured in a car crash.

so class 3 it is will go with motorminder then, it's only £2 a month more than what i'm paying now
