    Default fundraising?

i want to development my outside area and put in lots of fun new resources eg sensory plants, black board, junk instruments, plant pots and seeds for growing vegetables, wind chimes. The trouble is it's going to cost! i haven't worked out a rough figure yet but we're probably looking at about £100.

My question is...what can i do to raise the funds? i toyed with the idea of fundraising within the setting and asking parents to contribute to things but i'm not sure i'm comfortable with asking them for money for a private business. i'm currently putting together a recipe book for kids with ideas coming from parents. i was going to produce a copy for each family. do you think i could ask a small charge or would this be inappropriate? what do you think?

yellowmoon -you get brochures sent to you and people buy things and you earn a % ... 1 simple way.

a garden sale (sell items you no longer want/need in your garden or in doors) or sell things on

I have been putting tax money away every month so I am hoping come April I will have too much in my savings because I would like to do up my garden as well.

If not, it's make do and mend time until next year.

Which in my opinion is wrong..
I think there should be some sort of funding for CM's as we're expected to do the EYFS!! and all the rest..

Why dont you ask for actual donations in your newsletter, something along the lines of,

" I would like to develop the garden area further, using wind chimes, plant pots etc, if any families have anything they could donate it would be much appreciated and your children will benefit greatly"!!!!!!
***** proofed the house but they're still getting in!

My daughters nursery recently did a sponsored obstacle course, she was sent home with a sponser form and she gathered sponsor money from us and a few other family members. The obstacle course was done during her nursery hours so we didn't get to see her do it, she just told us about it when she got home......maybe you could do something like that to help raise funds??

Or maybe do a boot sale to raise funds, that way you could have a bit of a clear out too!

    xx
