I would call her & let her know the situation. Tell her you have somebody else interested in the vacancy & did she still require it?

if she does explan that you must have a non-refundable deposit & a start date, if this isn't possible i'd say that in that case then you have no choice but to cancel the contract.

Id give her a call and ask if she still needed the place as you have other interest, if she says yes id also ask for a non refundable retainer fee. If she refuses to pay that then i would have no other option but to accept the other child. She cant expect you to keep a place open if shes not sure if she wants it or not.

Sorry, I have my business head on tonight

I would meet with the Mum wanting full time and if she wanted to go ahead then I would sign her up and say you could no longer help the one day a week Mum.

She has 3 weeks to find another minder still and so far, she hasnt made much effort to secure the place with you anyway so that would not give me good vibes.

What is your gut instinct about it all?

I would not even have to stop to think or consider. Sign up the full timer the other parent is not even woth having and she sounds like trouble.
