Ive just had an email from a mum off of kent chilcare website!

she has a 10 year old that she needs a placement for!

anyone else look after any 10 year olds?? what would we need to do with them with regards to the evf's? if anything at all is involved with that?

You don't need to do anything with EYFS as that only relates to children until 31st August after their 5th birthday.

Girls are easy to look after; they like helping, crafts and generally joining in with others

    Good luck

Most 10 year old girls are a dream... if it fits with your plans it's worth a go!

I've looked after 10 year olds and over in the past and they fitted in fine with whatever we were doing.
They loved doing things they wouldn't normally do coz of their age, iykwim

Give it a go if you can fit them in

Sounds like a perfect mindee, they will normally entertain themselves at 10.

I would give her a ring.

10 year olds are usually fairly easy to look after, even boys like to play with the little ones and help.

    Good luck

can i just say that ofsted have not yet put in to plan of action a frame work for older children but it is in the pipe line i keep a record of what they do and give a daily record to parents i take pictures and they have their own file and please remember that you will need to show that looking after older children is not at the cost of care to younger ones you may care for

good luck hope it works out
