    Question Conjunctivitis

    Hi

I am a newly registered childminder and am looking for some advice please.
I have a child who has got conjunctivitis the nhs say can attend schools/nurserys etc, but online I have checked people are saying schools say they cannot attend until treated or cleared.
Some say 24 hours some say 48 hours some say until the gunk has totally cleared.
What do you say any advice please???

I say they are excluded until they've had at least 24 hours of treatment. The NHS guide is only a guide. You can make your own rules.

For me they will be excluded until they have started treatment (drops). I am not willing to have it spread around me and my family as I have had a very serious problem with my eyes in the past and now have scarring and I am not prepared to go through that again. My DD also has to be careful (she has numerous problems with her eyes).
