    Default Taking on over 8's

Just wondered how many of you do this and what you see the pros and cons being? Dyou charge more than you would for any other age group? I'm not signed up to the voluntary part of the childcare register, is this easy enough to do?

I joined the voluntary register when I started so it was all linked together. In not sure what the process is separately. I personally love having over 8s. Pros - they are quite happy playing independently, some can be very helpful, some are happy to chat, so a bit of company. Cons - they sometimes think they are too old for CM settings. I always make sure I provide activities and special days out (when possible) to make them feel valued in the setting so they don't just see it as a setting for young ones but they just have to be here. All of my mindees are important regardless of age :-)
