Default London Ofsted Big Conversation 24 June

It would be impossible for me to feedback on this meeting as it was very long and many issues covered.

The 3 Ofsted panel presented a PPoint on the new inspection and what it will entail...that lasted 1 and 1/2 hours with plenty of questions asked about notice, attendance by funded children, getting the call from the inspector....mostly answered but a few were not and we will get feedback
The Ofsted panel left to attend a meeting with Gill Jones and take back our questions

I was able to ask about Cms ratios and the Ofsted Compliance and Enforcement Officer waved some new information on this as I waved back the extensive correspondence from DfE on their take as well as the FAQs on the Foundation Years website....stay tuned for more info to follow.

Following the Ofsted talk we had 3 hours discussing the 30 hours 'free' childcare and what the sector intends to do about the funding review

June O'Sullivan...the OBC founder... will blog the result of the meeting and the minutes will be available as well.
You can get June's blog directly into your inbox...it is usually on a Monday.

Thanks for that. I've just tried to subscribe but the site is saying there was an error. I'll try later.

Here is the link to the official OBC website...if you can spare time to look there as well it gives all the regions' involved and minutes etc etc...mind boggling!!

    #OfstedBigConversation

Just to clarify that Big Childcare Conversation is to do with plan and strategy to respond to the 'funding review'...how will the sector react to the funding saga....what providers suggested at the London OBC is quite remarkable!...bolshey lot they were, in a nice way ...and rightly too!

The BCC conference I have mentioned is...apparently...on 19 September and I am sure we will get more info and there will also be a website...so much to take in!

For those on twitter the BCC can be followed with this hashtag #BCC...I hope I got all this right as my head was spinning after the meeting!

The notice for CMs remains just a few days before as it has been for a while
We were told that Ofsted would find it difficult to reduce that as CMs are out and about.
I questioned how we would know it was the inspector who called us for verification and the reply was it would be the inspector herself who rings....looking at my notes she did say she would check that out

when you get the call take the name which you can then check against her ID on the day she arrives....if you are not sure you are allowed to ring Tribal or Prospects to confirm....I don't think that has changed.
Nurseries and preschools will get the call at 12 pm the day before!
