    Default Heatwave

Anyone know a good website with tips for kids in heatwaves (we're due one next week!)?

Thanks mouse, great document. Some LAs definitely seem better than others at disseminating information. Ours is useless, can you tell?! ;-)

One very good source of information for these kind of things is NHS choices....brilliant for advice from colds to heat waves and all sorts of matters related to behaviour and child development!

Thanks Simona, Yep I was just reading the nhs website, it's a good website. I was looking for tips directed at kids specifically as a link for parents on my blog but I guess what applies to kids applies to anyone in the heat, was just particularly looking for a "child friendly" document. Not sure if that makes sense! :-)

Ah Yes...the message arrived from Foundation Years and my LA too...but the heatwave was already half day in!!!

Now I don't want to be unkind but surely most providers prepare for soaring temperatures and ...more or less ...know what to do whether we are nurseries, preschools, cms, parents or just those who holiday abroad in stifling temperature...we know it's hot and we take precautions!

Now this has annoyed me...advice for nurseries in the heat wave...not EY settings...just nurseries???...keep the nursery cool, keep children inside...tell that to cms who have to do a school run and melt away!

In the meantime I am keeping cool with my air conditioning...beat that!!

This is something to share...it is awful...poor child

Car seats can get hot as well, especially the buckle!
