Hello I mind a 5 year old but from the moment I had him a knew something wasn't quite right as in him having some behavioural problems now I don't know what I should do....
I've had him a few months now and mum has never said about him having problems.
Am I allowed to speak with his teacher? How do I approach this situation?
    Thank you

Do you have written permission to talk to other parties? (I do it as standard on my permission form)

If so, you do have permission so you could talk to teacher now... BUT first discussion should always be with parent really, have you discussed it? With them? Do you have some notes to show parents about what you have observed to back up your concerns? It is not our job to try to 'diagnose' any problem but if you can say to parents you have observed x-y-z behaviours and you are interested to hear how he is at home, how he is at other places, how he is with school then you can open a dialogue with parents and hopefully start working together.
