Question about observations.

I am just about getting straight with paperwork and just wondered when most of you started doing your observations. I have done about 2 per month for each child but wasnt sure when we should have started them.

I have started. The local course we went on said two a month was fine. I am filling out a form I was given with the 6 areas of learning on it about once a month odd observations as and when.

i do daily diaries and only do main obs when they are doin g something bigger where there are more notable things.

Ofsted do not tell us how many obs to do ...

If you have been given a figure on your training - 2 a month, 1 a week etc... then this is something your trainers have decided on - it is not a figure given to them by Ofsted.

It is up to us to prove we are meeting the requirements of the eyfs, by doing obs and planning to meet the needs of each child.

How much you do will be up to you
