daily diaries and eyfs diaries

Sorry I'm asking some dumb questions today but

are they one and the same thing?

I have a diary that is kept in the mindees bags that I write down what we have done during the day, if they have enjoyed something in particular, how much of their lunch they have eaten etc, the parents also write in this if there is anything they want me to know.

I was then planning to do a more sort of structured diary with their pics, photos etc in and obs

do I need to mix them up so they just have one diary?
