Feeling guilty!!

Has anyone given notice on a contract? I have a new baby starting May and will have to cancel an after school contract to make space... I feel so guilty it's really playing on my mind

I had to cancel a new baby starting as one of the existing mindees parents told me that they were trying for a baby and I wouldn't have had the space for their new baby (this is 20 years ago so different rules and regs), so I did feel very guilty going to see the new baby's mum to break her the news (obviously I couldn't say that the other mum was trying for a baby as they actually worked together, so I blamed it on my poor health instead), she wasn't at all pleased with me even though I found her another childminder. A couple of years ago my daughter went out with her son (the mindee that I cancelled).
