    Default Help with numbers!

    Hi all,
    I currently have a 3 under 5's.

And have had an enquiry about having a 4yo, from September before and after school.

Would that be ok as they are school aged or would they still count as an under 5, bringing me over numbers?

Hi Jade, the new one will count as a rising 5 as in full time school. So moves up into other age range. 5 to 8 yrs.

If the child is in full-time school (morning and afternoon sessions) as a rising 5 then they can be classed as an over 5 - if they are only in school for mornings or afternoon sessions then they are counted as early years until they are in both morning and afternoon. So if they start school fulltime straight away it is not a problem - if they are on a staggered start for a week or two then it would mean they are still classed as under 5.
