    Default extra hours

    hi

I just had a call from long term parent for extra hours on Thursday -all fine as space. but made me wonder if I didn't have a space and they wanted a few extra hours on a day I have no spaces can I do it as a continuity of care? or not? what are the rules here? as don't want to be caught out. This is the second time they have asked for extra hours in past few weeks.
If I did what would I need to do-risk assess, permissions???

You just can not go over 6. It's the ages that don't matter but the number at full capacity does

Its a no if you are going over your 6 under 8's.

If its taking you to 4 under 5's then yes its ok as its an existing mum needing more hours.

And does this apply just for one off extra hours, or would it still be ok if an existing parent asked permanently for extra hours?

    Thank you.

    So, I only have
one in 5-8 range (own son), (don't take on any in this age range)
One in 0-5 (own son. Age 3)
So if two normal mindees in on a day

And then long term parent asks for extra hours it's fine as I will only be 4 under 5.

Good to know, thank you. Didn't want to be caught on hop if she asks again on a day when I'm full.

    K
