    Default Scam affecting childminders

I don't know if this has already been mentioned but I have just been sent this info about a scam that is going around.

Just for your information. A Trio CDW has been contacted by two childminders from the Stratton area of Swindon over the last two days who have responded to a scam email which appears to have been sent out to a number of childminders across Swindon recently. The email is from someone wanting to place two children for two weeks childcare in July and saying that they cannot come and see the childminder as they are on holiday.

Both childminders replied to this email advising them they had vacancies and a cheque subsequently arrived for over £2000. This has made both childminders suspicious and contact their CDW. She advised them not to cash the cheque and confirmed to them it was a scam and to contact the police.

So would the cheque go through if you tried to cash it or not. What if you cashed it and then sat on the money for a couple of months. Or for ever.......................

The scam is you pay the cheque in, you get another email saying sorry I paid too much, can you refund via western union, you refund, cheque bounces, you're out of pocket scammers are laughing all the way to western union

Yes I had some one send me a fake PayPal invoice. They went silent when I emailed back saying did they really think I wouldn't check my balance before sending money to a courier. I also told them q few other things to rude to put on here.
