    Default Assistant advice

    Hi all

    Advice pls
I am fairly close to gaining an assistant. She had asked to being her baby 1 y/o to work with her.
Bit worried as then we will have 5 early years here, and she will be staying back with them all while I do school runs am and pm. Is that ok within my numbers??
Other than space, equipment any other concerns?? Anyone do this at the moment..

As I understand it if you or ur assistant were to be working alone (don't forget ur asssistant can only be left on their own for 2 hours a day) then u can each care for no more than 3 under 5's, 4 at the very most as continuity of care providing u have risk assessed appropriately.

There was a thread about ratios earlier, will bump it for you as can't link from my phone x

No I don't think you will be able to leave her with 5 under 5 on her own.

No you have to stay within your ratios unless there's a particular reason why you are not - ie not a routine reason

Could your assistant go on school run and take her little one with her and leave you with 4, which as long as you risk assessed and get parents permission may be ok. Also she will have to have first aid if she is left with children
