    Default Assistant observations

Hi, if my dh registers to be my assistant will he be inspected in his own right. I only expect him to be in the house when my numbers increase at change over times, I don't expect him to do anything. He certainly won't be signing contracts with any parents.

Also as he will be my assistant "in name only" will Ofsted expect him to do obs and planning etc?

Only registered childminders need to do the paperwork side.

An assistant assists - you are responsible for ensuring the assistant is aware of your policies, behaviour management issues etc... but nothing beyond that.

That's right, it is only you that is inspected.

However, during our inspection Graham wasn't asked any questions but she must have been watching him as he worked because there are some very nice comments in my report about him and she said he was an excellent role model
