    Default Write to Ofsted!

Here is my letter to Ofsted - please feel free to change it and please, please send your own!!

We need to keep lobbying - Ms Truss is still not hearing us!!

    To whom it may concern

I would like to share information with you about a document written written by me, with contributions made by childminders, parents, nursery employees etc, on behalf of childminders - http://www.childmindinghelp.co.uk/mgc.

I am passionate about childminding as you know and I am very committed to promoting outcomes for the children in our care. I strongly believe that the ‘More Great Childcare’ plan puts both outcomes for children and the future sustainability of thousands of childminders throughout the country at serious risk.

I have sent my document to Ms Truss and her colleagues in Govt and opposition, but I have yet to receive any replies. I am concerned that childminder voices are not being heard, despite lobbying, letter writing campaigns and the like.

Ms Truss answered a question in the House on 13th Feb - Child Care: 13 Feb 2013: House of Commons debates - TheyWorkForYou stating that Sir Michael Wilshaw of Ofsted supports her future plans.

I would like to ask if you will please pass my analysis of the ‘More Great Childcare’ document to his office so he is aware of the grave concerns shared by the vast majority of childminders to Ms Truss’ agency model which is failing in other countries throughout the world.

We would also like to draw your attention to petitions against changes to ratios which have, between them, so far gained over 50,000 signatures -
Petitions against change to adult:child ratios attract over 50,000 signatories | Nursery World

    Thank you.

Good idea - I was wondering about ringing or writing Ofsted myself as when I rang on the day all this was announced they didn't seem to know anything about it.

They know enough to be advertising at the moment for £70,000 a year HMIs who they will need to do all the extra work if Ofsted become the 'sole arbiters of quality' as suggested by Ms Truss!!!!

We are in the wrong job guys!
