    Default accreditation question

    Hi
I am in the process if completing the accreditation questionnaire by the LA and am a little confused on the wording. Im sure I will get some help from this forum

    Q) childminders reflection, self evaluation and evidence of practice for each aspect of the areas of learning.

Is reflection not the same as self evaluation?

My brains not in gear, could you please give me some clues as to the things I could include.

    For example
    PESD - making relationship,
    Could I include:
    Use of sharing/turn taking games/activities
Going to play groups and socialising with more children
    Etc.

    Thanks.

Just staring my training - it seems our LA got similar assessments. I think you r on the right lines. at our training they told us the assessment / questionnaire is to confirm our knowledge of the characteristic of effective learning. So I would explain/ reflect/ evaluate what i do n WHY - how it effects the child. I have used a lot from my SEF.

I'm sure someone will confirm as I said only just starting out myself too. Gd luck xT

I have just had meeting with DO about applying to deliver funded spaces and have sent off for an application pack - as far as I know I just have to complete form, send copies of my policies and then someone from county comes to visit - there is no training in my area and as from the Summer all our childcare team and development officers are being made redundant! So thought I had better get my application in quick.

I had my DO visit me twice. She completed a questionnaire (which seems similar to what has been described above and I either had to answer her questions or she could reference the evidence from my LJs) - answers were short and to the point, and she did an observation of me playing with the children AND that was it, she told me I am now accredited (awaiting paper confirmation).

So simples, I wish I hadn't kept putting off the process.

Thanks for the replies, I the wording is jusy confusing. We don't have any training here and the do wouldn't visit me as I got good in my inspection.
